I've been with my boyfriend 3 years now. I was not able to have vaginal orgasms, so while he would be inside of me,I'd stimulate myself and that's how I would climax. I guess I did that so much and for soo long that I've lost all pleasurable sensation in my clitoris, It's been like this almost 2 years. Now all I feel down there is nothing but irritation and discomfort!! I mean, it's unbearable for me to touch or for it to be touched! I used to enjoy oral sex, now I can't stand it!! I think it was the ic that got it like this because before I used to masturbate frequently(before I got w/ my boyfriend, that is) and it was fine. I've masturbated since I was a teen. I asked my gyno about it she said she thinks it might be related to ic.Has anyone experienced the same thing? I feel like my sex life is soo close to being non-existent!!! Yesterday I tried to have sex and I tried to stimulate my clitoris but I felt nothing!!! Can somebody help?

Vicky,
I am just wondering if you have Vulvodynia. Check this site out http://www.nva.org
I wish I had some answers for you. :(

Vicky,
I have had the exact same problem. I have always done exactly as you have, that was the only way i could have an orgasm. Anyway, the past few weeks we have tried twice and I could not have one. In fact, for the first time, I had to fake one so he would not feel bad. I am sorry you are going through this, too but I am glad to know that I am not crazy and someone else feels this way.

Yup, when I was fist diagnosed I had terrible clitoral/vulvar pain. Now though, as I have gotten things under control, all seems to be back to normal. I can remember thinking, "with it feeling this way, how will I ever have my normal sex life back?", it would be so uncomfortable, it was really depressing -- the thought of it feeling that way forever. But, like I said earlier, as things have come under control, the clitoral/vulvar pain has gone away.
Sometimes before my period I get a general vulvar achiness, but nothing like it used to be! I was/am convinced that vulvodynia was my trouble, and I have read that the two, IC & VV can go hand in hand and aggrivate each other, so I think that since I have one under control, the other has followed. That's my theory anyway! So, just keep on trying, don't give up hope! I never thought that it would feel normal again, but it does. And I know a lot of women who are unable to have an orgasm from just intercourse alone (I would say the majority of us), and also have to have "manual" stimulation ;), to achieve one -- myself included -- so I can completely understand the worry!!!!
Take care, and hope you feel better soon, I just kept telling myself over and over again: this is only temporary, give the meds a chance; this is only temporary .....
Hugs,
Tracey :)
