I didn't know where else to post this because i dont know whats causing it. So far I have not been able to get any Doctor to look at it or even comment on it because when i show it to them or mention it to them they just turn away and start rambling on about something totally not related to my questions. I have a rash that breaks out at non specific times on my chest between my breasts. At first i just ignored it and thought it was a heat rash but its not that because its also inside of my belly button and now on one of my eye lids. I've tried lotions and anything i can think of to sooth it but nothing works and without some Doctor eventually listening to me I just dont know how to find the source of it. Could it be my Elmiron? I've been on it for nearly 3 years now but this rash just started about 6 months ago. It's extremely red and peels like a sun-burn. Only other meds i'm on is Elavil but i've been on it for over 7 years. I'm on ascephex but the rash was there way before i started taking it. I'm just at a loss.

When I had a symptom that I thought was related to IC, I called the Ortho-Mcneil Co. directly. They have representatives that can assist you who deal with questions and answers about Elmiron. Fortunately, my problem ended up not being related to Elmiron, but the rep sent me a questionnaire and one to give to my doctor so they can document any side effects from elmiron. They were most helpful.. I don't have the webiste, but if you go to google.com and look up elmiron, the ortho macneil site (they manufacture elmiron) will be there. Telephone numbers are listed. liz

I have a rash at times that's dry and scaly --- mine is usually in the small of my back, but can appear other places too. My doctor says it's exzema and prescribed some cream to put on it. It clears it right up until "next time."

I'm actually laughing about this now. I found the problem shortly after posting to the board. And to think this has been going on for like 6 months *slaps noggin* It was a sterling chain which i never removed from around my neck, that apparantly had a cheap silver content, obviously very high in nickel. I put the charm from it on a leather cord and the rash started going away immediately. I was on the wrong track trying to search in foods for the cause but i'm very angry that not one Dr. i asked about it would even utter a response. They would recoil as if in horror and just get on another subject, which honestly scared me. Thanks though for the responses here though. You all are the best medicine.
