Hi all,
I am getting so mad because the doctors won't call me back. I posted my terrible story of what happened in the ER this weekend. Well I wrote to my ob/gyn doctor and called three times, because she is the one doctor whom I like and trust. However, she has yet to respond at all!! I just called again : third time in two days and begged them to have her read my e-mail.
I am sitting here praying so hard they will call back. I cant take this pain. I feel like such a baby complaining like this about it, but I am going crazy here, this isnt cool!!
Just thought I would post and hopefully get a little support

You might call again and ask if they can work you into her schedule for some help with your pain.

Warm hugs,

Donna's right, as usual. Call to see if you can get an appointment to see her. Tell them you are willing to wait for them to fit you in. Then you can talk with her in person. :grouphug:

Okay,
she just called back. She basically said that I should keep taking vicodin 1-2 every six hours, I think anyway!! I always get nervous and confused when I talk to them. So I think that is what happened . She told me to call the pain mgmt program and try to get in there. So I did and they said they would call back within two days. I am so hoping I can get in there fast!!

I'm glad she called back I was going to tell you the same thing the other had said to do call and see if they could work you in to see her since she didn't have time to call you back, but it seems like things worked out okay for you after all.
I do hope your pain gets under control soon. and you start feeling better.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda

Well the problem with an appt. is I would have to take more time off work for it. I am already taking off so much more time than I should so I was hoping we could talk about it all over the phone. Plus, it costs me 25 dollars everytime I go in there, so that gets costly. Especially considering I have already had 9 appts JUST in January, and still have another 7 scheduled for the next two weeks. I sent her another e-mail though because the pain clinic called me back and said it would be until late March before I could get in there. I expected as much, so I can wait until then as long as she takes care of my pain until then. She is so awesome.
Do any of you have any ideas for something to give/do for an awesome doc, who really goes out of their way?? I wanted to do something for her, because she is so awesome, but wasnt sure what was appropriate. Thanks for any info

You might want to ask your doctor to call the pain specialists office to see if they could see you sooner. Once I started working with a pain specialist I started needing the other doctors less. Most uro's or gyn's don't treat pain at all or they can't do it as effectively as a pain specialist. Good Luck.

One thing you can do for your doctor is to write her a note thanking her for her help. I have a son-in-law who is a physician and he absolutely appreciates it when a patient sends him a thank you note.

I sent my doc a thank you note and delivered a fruit/candy basket for the office staff. Let me tell you the nurses gave me even kinder consideration after that. ( That was unexpected bonus.) I will never forget how they helped me when I was in such dire pain. As an aside if the Vicodin doesn't give you relief and your pain is uretheral consider asking about neurontin or Pamelor. I have had luck with each and now take both along with Elmiron. Hugs, Carolyn
