Does IC cause nausea? Can IC cause heartburn? Is blood in the urine a sign of IC? :hmm:

yes hon i always have blood in my urine i may not always see it but the doctor can when they look threw that microscope (sp?) thingie. they have a name for it but i don't remember what they call it.

I also always have blood in the urine. I can't see it, but my doctor does when he looks at it under the microscope. I've been that way my whole life. My mom told me even when I first started having problems when I was 3-years-old that I had it then.

As far as nausea and heartburn, I'm not sure. Are you on any medicine? I know that some of them can cause these kinds of problems. I have had trouble with both of these things, but it seems to be more side effect related than IC related. (Though the meds are for IC, so technically it could be IC related! LOL)

YOu also might want to look around on this site in the patient handbook and stuff. There are some people who can help you more with this. I'm just speaking from my experiences. :)

I had big babies who gave me a hiatal hernia, so I have heartburn all the time without Nexium. I do not have blood in my urine, even when I have a UTI, but when I was 18, I had a bad bleeding incident from my bladder. They never attributed it to anything and I wasn't diagnosed for 20 more years.

Can you tell us more about what is happening?
