Good day to all of you. Hope all is well with all the mommies, or not mommies too :) Ive been doing pretty good with my pregnancy no major things. I think I might be past the vomiting and most the nausea thing thank God. Getting some energy back now which is nice. Im now almost 15 weeks and we find out the sex Feb 11th. Im so excited Ill have to let you all know. My heart wants a girl because I have a boy but of course most of all a healthy baby.

So I have a couple questions for all you mommies to be. My ic in the begining wasnt any worse then before I was pregnant but I think Im in a flare now because well frankly Its my fault because Ive been eating things I shouldnt. But I dont know whats better depriving my baby of good food, or staying on the ic diet while pregnant. Im not eating the junk and stuff but I do eat stuff that I know irritates it but I do it anyways. Are any of you stuggling with this? What are your diets consisting of? I just want to make sure Im getting a variety while pregnant ya know. I am taking prelief but it doesnt seem to be helping that much right now. I go to my ob appt next week so im gonna discuss maybe a install or something which i havent done yet. Im afraid of anything being put in there because i flare so bad after. Anyways just want suggestions as to what you all are doing to keep things under control with your diet or other treatments you doing. Well thanks for listening and getting back to me you all take care. Oh and hey I saw a few July babies Im due July 2nd.

:hi: I am also 17 weeks pregnant and have been struggling with my diet. I have found that I can tolerate unseasoned steak or chicken and pasta with an alfredo or white sauce. Luckily since my IC is not as bad as before I was pregnant I can also tolerate cheeses. I found spinach dip with hummus bread does not irritate me and is packed with nutrients for the baby. And it actually tastes good too! One of my favorites has been a baked potatoe with bacon, a little bit of cheese, and margarine (no chives).
The biggest problem I have is WATER. I try to get in my eight glasses a day but if I drink that much I am in the bathroom every 15 minutes! :toilet: :cussing: I am not sure what to do about that.
Are you taking prenatals? If so make sure you take one that has 100% vitamin C because you probably won't be able to tolerate the citrus that the baby needs. You may want to ask your ob to suggest a nutritionist during this time.
Good Luck!
Janelle

I have noticed also. It seems that I go more often when I drink water than if I drink other things. The more water I drink the more I am in the bathroom. :toilet:

thanks jenelle.....well its hard for me to say what really effects my bladder because i havent done the whole elimination diet yet......have you? Its seem pretty much everything effects me even down to water. when i had my exam with my uro 6 month ago he said my bladder cant even hold 8 oz and i had the classic ulcer seen in ic so im sure thats why mine is extra sensitive. I have such a hard time with the eating though and it really depresses me because its so hard to eat just blan stuff all the time. I like food and ive always eaten healthy but when your preg you crave certain stuff and it drives me crazy. Lastnight i ate a bean burrito from taco bell because i was craving it so bad and just took prelief with it.......i even cray sometimes because the whole diet thing i just cant seem to get a handle on. I feel like its robbing my life being this restricted. Part of me would just rather suffer and be happy then be miserable all the time watching everyone else eat tasty things i dont know do you have this prob? anyways sorry to vent about the food thing it just gets to me. I go to my ob next week so ill ask him what he thinks. Im so frustrated with doc because they dont seem to know enough about this prob to even help you so your on your own basically. well thanks for listening again. hopeful

Hi Hopeful,
I have not eliminated all "bad" foods in my diet just because I am not very strong willed. After being on the diet for some time you will begin to notice what you can tolerate and what are definite no-nos. I would never dream of touching a piece of pizza with tomoato sauce but I can tolerate an orange every now and then. I think that everyone is different when it comes to food and irritants. I learned through trial-and-error and some pain :)

I Drink Water, In Fact It Seems Like All I Want Is Ice Water. I Try To Eat Small Meal And That Seems To Help. I Don't Realy Eat Health Food Any Way But I Have Been Trying To Eat Apples And I Try Not To Eat The Chocalate. The One Problem I Know I Can't Have Is Caffine. I Have Not Had Coke In Over Three Mths. And I Don't Miss It At All. My Ic Problems Is I Have To Go To The Bathroom All The Time, I Don't Know If It Is The Preg. Or The Ic, But I Bet It Is The "ic" All I Can Say Is Try To Eat Light And Not Too Late At Night.
Everyone Take Care
