Hi Frank, I'm not in high school and I'm not a guy. I'm 19 years old and in college now. However, I've had IC since I was about 13. Thats when I started having major pelvic problems. There are several guys that are on here with IC. Welcome to the boards. Chelsey

Im not a guy either but im a sophmore and I found out I had IC about 4 weeks ago but Ive been dealing with it for 2 years. <I guess that makes me lucky compared to some of the people who have gone a lot longer than that w/o being diagnosed.

I hope to death somebody reads this. My names Emily and well I'm not a guy but this is the first thing I have seen involving highschool students with IC. This is the first time I'm reaching out to anybody about this, it took me so long to actually except the illness, so I guess this is a big step in a way for me. Even just finding this and knowing I'm not the only one in my age group suffering with this illness (the doctor i saw made me feel really alone in this whole situation) is such a relief. I want you all to know that I love you regardless of anything because i can relate to the ways in which you suffer. I've been hoping to start some kind of support group for younger people with this illness, even if its nation wide, I don't care. I've been suffering with IC about a year now, and I want to help people in my situation more than anything. I think it's the only way I'll start feeling better. So hopefully somebody will read this and I can get some feed back on this idea/feeling. I know this might sound selfish in a way but I really am thanking god that i found you guys, it's been a very very long year.

I am not a guy and I haven't been in school since 1978, BUT I also had IC back then..this was long before anyone had ever heard of it...all my school years were hard....riding the bus was a nightmare, as I was the first stop...no one understood and I got into trouble alot for leaving the classroom to pee..... it was whispered to the teachers that I had
" Bladder problems".. :toilet: ..my IC started when I was 6 in 1966...I felt like I had to pee so bad all the time...oh well, I survived and with your family's help and support, a good dr you will do well..... I have fought this disease for almost 40 years now..I have had enough and no treatments are working anymore..I am having my bladder removed in a couple weeks....I wish you luck and sending good thoughts your way that you will feel better soon.... :)
