My Primary doctor said that she think I have anxity. She said that when someone with an incurable illness has something wrong and something new happen that, it's all in my head. I was starting to think so too. I always had abdiman pain. I went to my parents home town. I had a uti and didn't really go away. the ER dr didn't even check anything. so I went to today to the mayor of my home town. my urine came back fine back, but he is calling for a culture since the er didn't do that. took tons of blood, seeing if my body is attacking it's self. xrays, and ct scans. well he xray my pelvi area. He said that I was soo young to have some Calcium problem on my ribs, then he took a chest xray. they chest ones came back fine. but one the first one the first two or three ribs are twisted, and very thin. the x rays, you can see right through them. Has this happen to anyone else? so the pain wasn't coming from inside..it was coming from the ribs weird..I think i'm just falling apart.the dr didn't make me pay the co pay. I was happy.I Hope the test come up with something soon.
I'd be very reluctant to continue with a dr. who thought it was "all in my head". IC is a very real physical disease, and all physical diseases cause some degree of anxiety. Anxiety is often a result of IC. Hope you find qualified drs. who can help you very soon. I'll keep you in my prayers.

If I hear one more doctor attempting to write off our pain as "psychologic" I am going to scream and it is not going to be pretty. I may also break things.

Yeah, awhile back I had a nurse practitioner who told me "a lot of pelvic pain is in the mind". I said, "if you'd seen the pictures of the inside of my bladder, you'd know exactly where my pain is located" ("comma, you JERK" - Kadi thinks to herself).
Sometimes I don't know what is wrong with people! I'm almost surprised when a doctor or nurse is nice & cares about my pain. At my local uro's office, the nurse is always really kind & friendly & I thanked her for it. She said, "you know, I figure people who come to a doctor's office are sick. They probably aren't feeling well and the least I can do is be nice to them, like I'd want to be treated if I didn't feel well". What a novel thought!
Hope you find a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor & staff at LL!

hi....
I am a registered nurse....in my opinion, i think all patient caregivers should spend 1 full day as a patient in the hospital as part of their training. I know I became a better nurse after spending time in the hospital as a patient. I had to depend on the staff for everything: bedpan, washing, assistance with eating......it was not fun. But it truly makes you realize what it is like to be a patient. I always try to put myself in the other person's shoes. A kind word or a smile can go a long way....sometimes doctors and nurses forget this
just a thought....tac

HAHA! :biglaugh:
I completely agee with you too! First of all, why would anyone openly admit to having a soar bladder when they don't? :loco:
Not only is it embarassing but it doesn't seem like it's associated with "the head". I've hear of psychological pains such as headachs, stomach achs etc that are formed from thoughts in the mind but bladder? Nope.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "No one wants to say they have a soar bladder when they don't, it's too embarassing an issue to fabricate"

Kiyoka ...Haven't heard from you in a while...sorry to hear you have not got an answer yet...keep searching...and praying a answer will come soon....when someone tell you such a thing it makes you want to go crazy.....we all feel..at times..."I will show them crazy"......Understanding is the key...you have got to find someone who will first listen.....and the first question I ask is ..do you know what ic is? If not I move on....give me a yell sometime!!!Diane
