I am going to try a t e n s unit. My insurance will pay 80% when I get it I am to make appointment with PT . They said it will be a 4 channel unit. I am sure the difference between units or what that means but I hope this will help me along with other treatments.

I can tell you for the month that i had my tens therapy unit it was the best thing ever. :woohoo: I went on to have the Interstim implant and can no longer use the tens unit, however, when i was using it it was wonderful. I used mine after doing my physical therapy stretches and exercises and during my PT sessions I was given E-stim therapy which is wonderful. :) Now that I have the Interstim I will no longer be able to have these therapies but I highly recommend the TENS. Usually insurance will have no problem paying for these items. With my insurance they rented the unit and my doctor wrote a prescription to need it and then the unit was provided to me by my Physical Therapist. I have severe pelvic floor dysfunction so I hope if you opt to try this you have the same amount of great luck that I did. Keep us posted, alright?

Hi Kelly, I got my tens unit a little over 4 years ago and I have to tell you it was the best thing ever for my IC pain. :woohoo: Most of the time the pain stays between 5-9. Once in a while it will get to 10 but then I just take an ibuprofen pill, turn the unit up and sit for awhile. I did have a problem with a servere rash from the glue they use for the elctrodes. Even for the sensitive skin. If this happens let me know and I can tell you how to avoid it. I wear mine 24/7. Only take it off when I take a bath. Without it I would not be able to sleep at all. :shake: I hope you have as much luck with it as I have. It did take awhile for the insurance to pay for one but the physical therapy place let me use theirs until mine came. Good Luck.
