I am just wondering what dr's help more with an IC diagnose?

I started battle my disease over 8 yrs ago and have found that my GYN has helped me more than anyone else. As far as thinking well maybe you need to go to a uro and get tested for IC. He even wrote a letter to the Urologist telling them to test me for IC. But urologist wouldnt and even told me I was to young to have it and if I did I would regret it b/c there was no cure.

It still took me 2 yrs after that initial uro to find one who would listen to and test me.

It a shame how many Dr out there are unfamiliar with this disease. I was told if I had gotten help earlier that maybe I would respond favorably to these meds and so forth.

Just wondering Thanks and happy 2005

I saw 4 Uro's and my MD who all said it was in my head I needed therapy. My Gyn was the only one with faith and helped get my 4th uro to do a in hospital cysto/hydro at same time as laparoscopy. After that he treated me pretty rotten and suggested my pain was not as bad as I said. although she said told me when he did the procedure he said he had never seen a bladder that bad !She said everyone in the operating room was shocked.I then found a OB specilty office who has a NP that specializes in IC and a pelvic pain specialist they work together and help me a great deal...
