I drink and drink and drink all day long. Mostly water and some tea. Now, it is freaking freezing where I live so I have been drinking warm/hot fluids (even warm/hot water) to keep me from freezing and I have noticed my pain on a scale 1-10 is from a constant 10 down to maybe a 8. Two points is huge for me. Do any of you noticed a difference in pain if you drink warmer fluids ? I may be off my rocker here but when my pain isn't as bad I really try to figure out why.

Some of us do better drinking warm water. I'm not sure why.

I too am a huge "drinker", ok that sounds funny, honestly it's only water! LOL. But anyway, I too noticed that. I would go out on Friday nights and just drink ice-water, since I am constantly talking, lol, and my ditropan dries me out terribly, it would be lots! Then I'd get home and have troubles, mostly frequency (more than just from drinking lots water, lol) and some pain. And I realized that by the end of the evening I would be freezing, sitting with my coat on. Now, being cold makes me tense-up, and I think that is what was aggrivating my bladder! The colder my body is, the tenser it is, the more aggrivated my bladder. Just my own personal observation! LOL

Well good grief! I never thought about my water temperature potentially having an effect. I will have to experiment and see. All I drink is cold or cool water. I love these boards! Thanks for this post! :)

i noticed it is easier to drink room-temperature evain water.
when i am really thirsty, i will drink it from the refrig.
when i drink 3 sips of evian, i have to go :toilet: ...
but, yes, it is less irritating with warmer water.

Yep, I've been testing "the water" all week and for me, warm is the way to go.
Do any of you have alot of problems with your stomach? I feel like I've ate a 15 course meal most of the times.
Tracy...like you if I drink cold, then I get cold and then bladder problems. Never really realized it until you spoke of it and got thinking...hum sounds familiar. Weird eh. Having a real problem adjusting to the winter weather this year. I have to start to head outside 5 minutes earlier because I know when I go out and get in the car within in seconds I will have to go to the washroom. My boyfriend got me a car starter for Christmas to help there (we just have to get in stalled...lol)

I used to only like water ice cold with ice cubes. When I was dxd with reflux years ago, I found it painful to swallow water so cold so I switched to room temperature. I stil to this day do this. I keep the water in the garage, so it gets a natural "chill" but isnt cold at all. During the summer I still drink it at room temerature.
Since I was dxd with IC, which was very soon after onset, I noticed my tolerance for the cold was slim to none. So, I love my "hot" drinks and room temp water. I don't drink anything else, so that's easy.
I too feel worse bladder wise when cold. Brrrrrrrr.

I just drink hot or room temperature water. Hot water is soothing. When I go outside, and cold air hits my body, it tightens my bladder muscles as my body goes rigid. Then, I feel pain and have to pee more.

For me, I can only drink warm water, either out of the tap or bottle so I can't help you there. Sorry

Nice to see that I wasn't imagining it!! I too can't stand the cold weather, I feel cold all the time it seems, I actually asked for a scarf for Christmas! (Not exactly a "fun" kind of gift, but I sure do love it!) Maybe I should thought bigger and gone for a remote starter for my car! Damn!!!! LOL

I'm with you guys. The cold always makes my menstrual cramps worse, too. It would be nice to move somewhere warm. :) Last winter I found a throw type fleece blanket that is electric. It is wonderful in the cold winters we have here in Indiana. The nice thing, too, is that the heat always feels good for my bladder and stuff.

When I step out into frigid cold air my bladder protests, too! I am so thankful to have heated seats in my car. In addition to taking care of the cold air problem, it helps me to ride more comfortably. The first thing I do when I get in the car is flip on my "bun warmer". It feels good to me even on a hot summer day. My husband's vehicle does not have heated seats but I have been thinking about getting one of those massage pads for cars to use when I ride in his car. They provide heat and/or massage and plug into the vehicle.
As for hot or cold drinks, my bladder likes warm better but will tolerate cold when the weather is hot. I normally drink my water at room temperature but, when my bladder misbehaves, I switch to hot water and it seems to help.

Heh heh heh, good thing my man ain't into much lingerie (sp??), WHEW! Otherwise I would be a popsicle!!! LOL I get teased for wearing socks to bed, but it's funny, I start out in socks to get tootsies warm, then take them off for actual sleeping. For some reason can't sleep in socks, crazy!
Oh, I would love heated seats!! That's sounds wonderful.....

You know, it's funny. Cold weather bothers me too. When I go in the cold, I always have to pee, and my pain gets worse. I almost always drink ice water. I'm gonna have to try the warm. It makes sense though, cold makes some of our bladders have spasms. Weird Hunh? Who would have thought? :hmm:
