Question on Ic and lasik surgery

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year!
I'm wondering if anyone here has had Lasik eye surgery? I have Ic and would like to get lasik eye surgery. I do not have any other problems that can be associated with Ic..( such as fibromalgia, arthritis etc) I am not on any medications only managing with diet. I would really like to get Lasik done. However, I believe that people with autoimmune diseases are at risk getting this procedure done because of compromising immune system. I know that no one really knows what IC is and even if it is an Auto immune disease. Anyways, I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had lasik or is thinking about getting it done even though they have IC.

I hadn't heard that and plan to have it soon as well, so I guess I will keep tabs on this post...going to a seminar for it, will let you know what is said when I get my rear there......

I had it done a little over one year ago. No complications, went from -7.25 (very severely myopic) to 20/20. Best thing I ever did for myself.

Thanks for posting that Lori, I am getting so tired of my glasses and that whole on off thing, but need them now to see my food on the plate-so annoying! Plus, I am now doing what I thought was sooooooooo geeky with my parents. I will now use anyone's glasses especially in a restaraunt and find I am now in the club of auto sharing prescriptions for menu reading. Ugh.....and my family is so tired of the same old line...."has anyone seen my glasses"? Usually tucked in my neckline or on my head anyway! :)

I had it done in Sept 2000...excellent results!! 20/20.....I do wear reading glasses sometimes...I am a piano teacher, so sometimes I need a little help with those tiny notes....Lasik was the best thing I did!
