I believe that my IC started after having a c-section for my son. My symptoms started about 4 - 5 wks after his birth. I never had any problems like this before then. I had a problem where they had to rush and deliver him. When they gave me my epidural they went in the wrong place and what was to numb my toes for testing temporaily parlize me from the neck down so they had to get him out right away. Anyway I believe having a c-section is what did it for me. I never even had a UTI before then.
My symptoms started one month after my second c-section. Hit one day out of the blue. I think I probably had underlying IC that was set off by the surgery....

I had IC years before my c-section. After the surgery........it hasn't gotten any better or worse...

I also had my IC years before my c-section. The c-section didn't make IC any better or worse for me either.

I'm not sure how long i have i.c my uro said i had it for many many years before he found it.
but didn't even notice anything weird until i had my last babie which i did have a epidural matter of fact three of them two for the babie but i was already pushing by the time they put the second one in and and i pushed it out of my back so they said then the next day i had my tubable i think it was a epidural if not it was something close to it.
honestly i have no idea what caused my I.C. there is so many things that could had caused mine from bladder surgerys from many many u.t.i.

I asked a similar question a few months back. I had a c-section 19 years ago. I had no IC symptoms after the birth but did have a bladder infection when my baby was six months old. It was in a lot of pain with this infection and went to emergency at the hospital.
Since the cesarean section rate is still very high (one out of four births in the USA), it's difficult to determine if IC is a result of this surgery.
