can u PLEASE describe your bladder pain

what does your bladder pain feel like? Mine feels like someone took my bladder out and hit it with a baseball bat and set it on fire and than twisted it and squeezed it and than put it back in ...when it fills with pee it feels like it is going to actually explode and rip apart. Is this similar to anyone? I dont have sharp pains or cramping and I am scared that those symptoms are what the IC bladder pain feels like:(

my bladder feels like someone else's bladder and it is trying to get out; kicking and banging inside of me, saying, "i am in the wrong body, let me out."

My bladder feels like all of the above, pressure, burning pain, squeezing and spasms. The burning can be so bad sometimes I feel like I need to put out a fire.

My bladder feels like it is being "dead armed" over and over and over again. It feels like someone took a razor blade to my bladder and I often wish my bladder would just explode and I could get a new and normal one.

During my very worst time with IC-at onset, I used to describe the burning and the temperature it felt like as if i were a "human percolator"! Gosh, none of my Drs were amused by this, but I thought it was damn accurate when I peed............

My bladder feels like someone hit me with a steel baseball bat under the ribs several times, then took a knife and cut me all the way down there. Then when I pee, it feels like its raw and burns like hell.
when I don't have to pee, it feels like I have a torn muscle from under my ribs to my bottom from front around my side and in my back. And on good days it feels like a bad menstrual cramp and sometimes feels like labor pains. :cussing:

My bladder on the worst days feels like someone is scraping it out from below with a razor blade... it feelis raw and burns like an open wound. (which it probably is :rolleyes: )

On a good day it just ACHES... it feels like a clenched fist...

My urethra feels like someone is stabbing it upwards with a knife and twisting it tight so it burns and stings...

Sometimes I just want to rip it out of my body (my bladder AND my urethra! :rolleyes: )

My hubby actually said last night, can't you guys get bladder transplants??? They can do it with almost every other organ! I WISH!!!!!!!! If it becomes available I'll be first in line!!

This is a good question.. when I went in to the uro yesterday, the assistant asked me this same question "please describe exactly what it feels like to you". He said that he always asks the IC patients what it feels like to them, and we're all just about the same, but some are worse than others.

To me it feels like I have an elephant sitting on my bladder at all times - even the good days. I have pressure, and my stomach bloats up so much that I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. I am constantly aware of my urethra, it feels like I have something stuck inside of it and it burns... it also feels as if it's being twisted around or pulled on constantly. When I pee, my urine feels HOT coming through, but it's really not. When I stand up, I feel like I have rocks bouncing around in my bladder, like something is about to fall out at any time.

I've asked my husband to just knock me the hell out and rip out my bladder MANY times!!

And I will fight to get in line for that bladder transplant thank you!

Oh no Dee74 you took the words right out of my mouth :ignore: When people used to ask me what it feels like I would say, imange an elephant standing on your stomach with razor blades on it's feet just standing there & grinding it's feet into your stomach.
Dose anyone else also have the symptom of to touch the outside of your lower belly the skin feels really cold, but of course the inside is like a raging fire?????? :loco:

dee74 you described exactly how I feel with my urethra- that twisting pain like it is being pulled downwards. It is awful. Also, my urine feels really hot some days, like I have drunk a boiling hot drink and it has gone straight through my bladder. I also get so bloated I look more pregnant than I did when I was pregnant!!

The last few days I have had period like cramping right across my bladder.
GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... when will it end?? :rolleyes:

My bladder:
burns: feels like I'm leaning against a red-hot stove element
aches: like my bladder has a hearbeat of its own
gnawing: like someone is ringing my bladder 'out'-just like a dishcloth

I feel like that everyday...on my 'better' days it aches. When the burning is so extreme, the nausea kicks in. That is when I feel like it is pushing me to the edge!

I pray every night that a cure will be found soon.

it's like pissing out razor blades when voiding, pain lasts for 10-15 minutes after and then have to void again so pain 24 / 7, sometimes pass out pain so bad

agree with all your descriptions. feel them all.

as for the bladder transplant.................lol...yes it would be quite the fight
