I went in Friday and had my test where they took two peices from my cervixs which wasn't the most fun exp. in my life i was in tears it hurt like heck!
anyways i asked him did it look like cancer he said he didn't think so but he had to send it off to be sure. Then he stated more test would have to be done but they would be done in the O.R. What???? Why???? If everything comes back okay why the O.R I asked then i said for the lap thingie. He said Yes that too. That too what else is he thinking??? I'm so puzzled and he wouldn't give me an answer he had to make sure what comes back before he can tell me what he is wanting to do :( Okay i'm already in pain from him doing this and now he has scared the crap out of me too. Not Good!
I also reminded him my uro wanted to go in at the same time to remove any nasty hunners that may have came back. He let me know he remember that for me to come back in two weeks my test should be back by then, but the woman at the front desk told me to come back Jan 6 My mom's birthday. then he will tell me what the test said and what type of surgeries he wants to do.
I'm scare to dealth thinking okay here i am one doctor is wanting to go in and do a lap thingie and something else. my other doctor wants to go in at the same time to remove hunners and i know give me another hydro. and send me home the same day i'm thinking :( that is to much done at one time is this even safe???
for you ladies that has been threw the scare of crevix cancer then had surgery wqhat did they do to you?? did they keep you over night?? Did they make sure your pain was under control before they sent you home??
I'm also scared because i will have ot have the sugery at the same hosp. that treated me like dog crap when I found out i had staph.
came at me like an alien which i didn't like and don't want to go threw that crap again.
sorry to ramble on and on but i need some answers can anyone help me PLEASE!! pretty please with suger on top :)

I went in for a laparoscopy due to severe pelvic pain 4 weeks following GYN surgery. MY GYN also scheduled my URO to follow him with a hydro/cysto for IC dx. So essentially I had a lap to r/o endometriosis and instead found a badly swollen and damaged fallopian tube which was removed. I had a tubal ligation, and followed with a hydro/cystoscopy. I wasn't any more sore than my first surgery, actually that was worse in the pain aspect and I was able to get lots of answers with one round of anesthesia.

So, my point is, I do think it's routine enough if schedules allow and aside from the usual abdominal surgery recovery, I was glad to have it all done with 90 minutes in the OR.

So, aside from the normal concerns and not enough info "yet", I wouldn't be concerned at all...it is safe and you may ask you Dr this same question for your own satisfaction. I am sure it will be fine.

The waiting time is the worst --- I wish I could help make it easier. Your doctor won't know what the next step should be until the results of your tests are available. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Warm hugs,

I had a biopsy done in the dr office after my pap test came back abnormal. It was not pleasant. then they use silver nitrate sticks to stop the bleeding, that burns also. the biopsy came back as pre-cancerous cells, so they did what is called a cone biopsy. they go in and cut a cone out of your cervix, it was done in the o.r. i felt a lot of cramping afterwards.
