My husband and I have both been trying to lose some weight lately. We've not been nearly as active this year with my bladder problems. Plus, he broke his shoulder in the spring. (Not a good year for our bodies!)

Anyway, there is a new XBox game called "Yourself Fitness" that is like a personal trainer. You spend about 30 minutes entering some information about yourself and doing "tests" so the "trainer" can understand your abilities. There were jumping jacks (YIKES!), stomach crunches, some stretches, etc. You can set however many workouts you want each week for however long. I'm starting with 15 minutes, four days a week. Even though I'm having lots of pressure right now, everything seems to be low impact enough for my bladder to handle. There is also a yoga section, which is nice and even more low impact. There's also a nutrition guide included with recipes, but most of them include unfriendly food for ICers, like fruit and stuff. I'm not using that part.

The game cost about $35 at Best Buy. That's pretty cheap for an XBox game (they usually run around $50). My husband is really into games, so we already had the XBox and everything. The other nice thing about this is you don't need to have any workout equipment (though, the trainer will work with whatever you have if you enter that information) and you can do everything in your own home.

Just thought I would share for any of you out there who have XBoxes. So far I've been pretty impressed with this and it's compatibility with my bladder. :)

This sounds neat, and it sounds like what I need while it is below zero outside (I usually go walking). But, what is an XBox???? Thanks!

If I weren't married to my husband, I'm sure I would ask the same question! :) An XBox is a game system to play video games. They are techincally called game consoles. Pretty much it's one of the latest ones like Atari or Nintendo used to be. Currently on the market, you can buy games for XBox, Play Station 2 and Game Cube. They are kind of pricey, though. I'm thinking between $120 and $150. My husband has to have these things when they first come out, so it's been a little while since I've checked the price.

Thanks for the info. Ohhhh, that's too expensive for me though. I'm still getting over the cost of food from the health food store, Wow! :headbang: But maybe I can look into it later on. Thanks for letting me know what an x-box is, have a great Christmas! Leah. :kissing:

Do you know if this game is available for playstation? We have both 1 & 2 at home. Most games are made for the different consoles around. This one sounds great but I haven't seen it here. I'd be prepared to send overseas for it if I could get it for the PS.

I asked my husband about having this game for other consoles (he is my game guru!) and he suggested looking on ebgames.com. They don't have it for XBox, but they do have it for PCs and it's only $25 for PCs. It came out today (12/20). I'm assuming that you find it in the stores as well. It's called Yourself Fitness.

I hope that helps! :)
