As I posted before...My husband is part of a team who are in Kabul, Afghanistan right now giving Leadership Training to some members of the new Afghan Government. They have been there for 1 week and will be returning this coming Sunday night.

Now that you are caught up...here is my news. My husband and two other members of the team were able to attend the newly elected President Karzai's Inauguration. The Minister of Health sent a car to the guest house where they are staying and off they went. It was a complete surprise. They had been invited but were told they would not be able to attend for security reasons. They were not at the exact location where all the World Dignitaries were, but in a theater with all the Afghan Generals, under Ministers and other Afghan dignitaries where they were able to watch the cermonies over closed circut on a large screen. He told me he thought they were the only Americans in attendance there. My husband said that it was an amazing and very moving sight to see those Afghans in attendance wiping away their tears as Karzai was sworn in as the 1st democratically elected President of Afghanistan. What an experience and honor. :woohoo:

Wow, thanks for sharing that. It is impossible for us to really comprehend how incredibly historical this is.

Even hearing it through you I know I can't possibly grasp the enormity of this while living in the free world and never having been a part of the fight for freedom. Wishing you and hubby and all the troops a blessed holiday and the safe and speedy return of all our troops. We love them and the families who share them. :kissing:
