I was recently diagnosed with IC by a urogyn who has treated me to the best of her ability, but now feels that I should see a specialist who is more familiar with IC. I took Elmiron for 3 mos. but had to stop due to severe hair loss, and I can't live without pyridium which I take 2x daily as well as a small dose of Elavil at night and valium for pain although it doesn't help the severe burning I have all the time! All of the postings have been so encouraging but I can't take this pain. Sitting is so painful. I live in the NYC area and would appreciate any M.D. referrals and suggestions. Thanks for sharing!
