Ok, back to me obsessing about the colonoscopy.....
Oy, so sick of myself obsessing! :bonk:

Which prep is gentler, the phospho soda along with 100 gallons of liquid or miralax with 100 million gallons of liquid?

Speaking of liquids, I am pretty sure everything will flare me except homemade chicken broth. How did you do on gatoraid, which I guess is important to drink so I don't pass out or something.

Thank you, and so sorry to clog up this site with the same endless colonoscopy questions -- no pun intended.

Love,

The solution I had to drink was called something like Nulitely. It didn't flare my IC at all. Just be sure to stay close to the bathroom after you begin drinking it and until it stops going through. It's not fun, but it only lasts for less than a day. You'll be fine.

I just drank water the morning of my procedure.

Thanks Donna. I think I can get my bedroom tv angled in a way that I can see it from the bathroom!

The question about the liquids had to do with the day before the procedure, when you can only have liquids and no solid foods.

Have a good night,

Don't think I can have gatoraid. I can't remember when you are having this but I know with my body to prevent dizziness and such my body can handle things better even lack of food) if it I kinda wein into it. I hope it goes well. Don't worry.

I never tried Gatorade, so no help there. I think it is important to find something that will give you some nutrients while you're on the limited liquid diet. I stuck with empty calories (ginger ale, jello, acid-reduced coffee with no milk, etc.) and felt pretty yucky just before I went to the hospital for the test - good thing my husband was driving me. Depending on your food sensitivities, maybe you could try some IC no-nos with Prelief or something like that just for the short time you're on the liquid diet. Next time I need a colonoscopy, I might try some fruit juices or Gatorade with Prelief.

I didn't find that the phospho soda caused any IC problems for me. Definitely needed to be near a bathroom, as Donna noted, but no IC flare.

I also had Nulitely I believe I went with the orange flavor. They had cherry, lime up,orange and regular. I can pretty much only drink water for the last few years so I am not sure about gatorade. Good luck,
Kelly

The phospho liquid was the most horrible stuff I have ever had to drink in my entire life. By the end of the glass, my throat was closing up when I tried to swallow it. If there is an alternative, I would try it.

I had to do the prep for an IVP pre-IC diagnosis, so I drank lots of white cranberry juice and clear Gatorade. If it doesn't bother you, you can eat green or yellow Jell-O too. I usually get really ill if I go too long without eating, but between the Gatorade and the Jell-O I made it through okay (I was just really dehydrated when I went in for the procedure). One warning: if you do the phospho liquid, mix it with something you never, ever want to drink again (because after you drink it with the phospho, you won't want to drink it ever again).

Hope everything goes okay for you :).

I drank baby apple juice and took prelief with each glass. It was a miserable experience but didn't bother my IC.
