My 12 year old Golden Retriever had a stroke in the middle of the night, the vet says supportive car is all we can do. He will either start improve or deteriorate.
i am a mess thinking of the lessor if this.
I spent all day in the car praying that if it was serious, God please just let me go home a find him gone. I hope I don't sound morbid or selfish.

That's not being selfish, Leslie.......it just shows you care and don't want your furry family member to be in pain.
I'm sorry for the bad news and I hope your dog does turn around and get better.
Hugs to you guys........ :grouphug:

I'm so sorry Leslie!
How's he doing? I hope it was a small stroke and you'll have many more years with him.

I hope he does well. Having to have a loved pet put down is one of the most difficult things I can think of --- and it takes a great deal of love to be able to do it.
Sending gentle hugs,

Thanks everyone, he does seem a tad better this AM. He will at least wag his tail which he had no control over yesterday, he still holds his read to the right some, but can get up on the bed today. I hope I am not just grasping at straws here, I really hope this is some improvement and better news for my Montana. Thanks again will keep you posted.

Montana is doing much better today, he is still holding his head to the right and slow on the stairs, but was in the bath tub this morning when I got up, that is where he goes when the weather is bad ans scares him. I am so glad he is better, I just can't imagine losing him right now during the holidays. I would literally be lost without him. He spent his working days not aloud to leave hubby's left side at anytime. that is what he knows. Now that he is retired he spends every step I take at my left side literally brushes my leg at all times. I really don't know how to walk in my house without him there. It would sure have been a huge adjustment for all of us. Thanks so very much for all your support. I know he is jsut a dog but I worry about them as much as my kids.
