Hey!
I not only have IC, but have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and functional bowel disorder. I have horrible back aches practically 24/7 and awful leg aches as well. As for the functional bowel disorder, the docs don't really know what it is, they just say that the structure of my GI tract is fine, just something isn't working quite right. Anybody else have these probs and any suggestions for coping.
I also experience severe stabbing pains (that often double me over) in my lower right abdomen. The docs can't decide if those pains are IC, FM, or FBD related. Any ideas?

i have lower back aches but they stopped for a short peroid of time after hunners was removed from my bladder. I also have pains that run down my right leg which that also stopped for a short peroid of time after the hunner was removed.
I've only been dx with Chornic I.C, Hunner uclers, P.F.D.
Hon if your doubleing over you need to get to the e.r asap!
call your family doctor have tell him what is going on maybe he can send you to the right doctor if not the e.r should be able to send you where you need to go.
I wish you lived closer to me so You could see my uro.
sending you hugs and prayers

I have diagnosed IC, Fibromyalgia and IBS. It sucks, to put it bluntly. My dr says that all 3 diseases are very commony linked. I also have debilitating back, neck and leg pain. I see a chiro once a week that helps me get by but certainly doesn't "fix" anything. Also, when one flares, the others do too, esp. the IC and IBS.
I also get stabbing pain in my lower abdo, usually on the left but have had it on the right. I would agree with Dixie that if the pain is debiltating I would get it checked out ASAP- what if it's appendicitis?? I have had a laparoscopy and nobody has found a reason for the pain. Sometimes I think it's bowel, other times IC. Who knows????? There was a thread about that pain a while ago and some people believe it is related to the hunners ulcers, if you have them.
You are not alone anyway!!!!!!!

So many of us are dealing with a lot :grouphug: I have back pain and leg pain too...infact my biggest complain of the day since I woke up. I thought mine were endo but I am not sure either. Although I have been test for fibro by my family doc without enough yes spots, people keep telling me I should get tested again. Fibro I would believe as your pain. Actually any muscle pain in your back could cause that. IC can too if your pain is bad enough. No matter what it is see if you can find out what your trigger is since all of those can have some allergy to them.

Hey! Once again it's nice to know i'm not alone. I understand what causes most of my pains the only one that is a mystery is the lower right abdominal pain. I really wish they would figure it out!!!
I've thought about that whole "Might be appendicitis" thing also. But I hate to run to the ER so often. I don't want to be seen as a regular. The last time I went to the ER the doctor asked me if I was seeing a psychiatrist. That really really ticked me off, :cussing: because I'm so tired of hearing that it's all in my head! I do know that I'll be going to a different hospital next time.

:) Hi Southerngirl! Sorry you're in such pain. I have Fibromyalgia & M.E. (Chronic fatigue syndrome) in addition to I.C., they all seem to be interconnected. None of the pains are " :loco: in your head" - I was told that repeatedly in the 1980s until my condition became severe; can't believe doctors are still saying it :shake: . The pains in my lower right side are uterus-related, but that doesn't mean yours are . Insist on proper investigations instead of being fobbed off with psychiatric treatment. hugs

Hello! sorry to hear your in so much pain. I just wanted to let you know I can relate. I have fibro andIBS. not sure it's the same as functional bowel or not.Anyway, I get that stabbing pain in my lower right side. It seems to never go away. Like you, I'm not sure if it's my bladder or bowels. I have a collapsed pelvic floor to go along.
The thing that helps the pain the most is heat and more heat. Sometimes I take a sitz bath then go to bed with heat and that seems to help. The nurse at my dr. told me to try a muscle relaxer, but that only helps a little bit.
Hope you find relief soon :grouphug:
Not alot I know, I hope it helps.
