a question about home instillations...

What do you use to clean the external genitalia and urethral opening before inserting the catheter. I've been using iodine swabs like they do in the hospital. I forgot to ask my uro's office and won't be able to contact them until monday at the earliest.

I was told that a q-tip dipped in a solution of soap and water is fine. It was what I used when I did the installations.
Hope that is helpful.
Anything celan and sterile should work.

anti bateria (sp?) soap. The liquid type its cheaper and works very well.
