Is remission different for everyone or is there a medical definition. I often think I am having a day that feels like remmision, but then the symptoms will pop up again at night. I don't feel the horrible pain that so many seem to have. I have mild aching, like a period, and loads of pressure and frequency. My symptoms are "livable" but always there and always on my mind because I feel the pressure. I have had cases where it has been horrible, more like a very bad UTI but for the most part I am just in constant discomfort. I wonder if I am in remission or is remission still something I haven't had yet. I have never had no symptoms.
Thanks.

Well, I think a remission is very different with each individual I.C. patient.
I don't have unbearable pain either. I have that achy feeling along with frequency alot. My remission is when I'm not going to the bathroom as often...and no pain at all. Most last anywhere from a few days to months and even years. My longest remission was after I had my son. That one was 4 months long and so nice.........
I hope your symptoms subside and you feel very well soon. :grouphug:

Thank you Jamie. I have a gut feeling my remission is now when I am in livable discomfort as compared to crawling on the floor discomfort. It is urinating every hour instead of every 15 minutes. I can't even imagine being without symptoms, but I hope I am without any symptoms one day....

I think many patients call a remission what you described in your last post. They have pain and frequency so often, when it slows or almost stops, that's as close as they might get to having one.
Most cases, in a remission or not, we still do many normal things in life......and let the IC work around us. Not us working around the IC. :grouphug:
