Hi Trishie.
Here is what I'm on now right now...
Daily: Ditropan XL, Elmiron, Neurotin, Elavil
Not Daily/When Needed: Percocet, Ultracet, OTC pain killers, OTC herbal supplement Echinacea, OTC antihistamine, Prelief, Pyridium
I am on 20mg of Elavil, 5mg of Ditropan--at night.
Also: Necon 1/35 continuously to not have period/period related flares (birth control pill)
Monthly to every 6weeks-DMSO cocktail instillation (DMSO, Heparin, SoluCortef, Marcaine, Sodium Bicarbonate)
When needed for flare--extra half Ditropan during the day, Pyridium,
2 Tylenol with 4 Preliefs (Tylenol without Prelief can trigger a very big flare for me)
Darvocet (very rarely do I need that anymore, but it's good to know I have it if needed)

For IC (also possible PFD & IBS):
Amitryptiline (Elavil) 25 mg 1x a day (might increase to 50 mg)
Diazepam (Valium) 2 mg 3x a day
For Allergies:
Allegra 250 mg 1x a day
I also take Pyridium and Prelief occasionally, and I'm hoping that my doctor will give me something for the pain next time I go since Pyridium doesn't do much.

All I take, besides Elmiron, is an antidepressant. I used to take a long-term antibiotic but don't anymore. I take a microdantin after sex to help with infection. I use Prelief if I am about to eat something ify. I try to follow the IC diet.

Just Pyridium 200mg about twice a day
I tried 'UniDet' which is for spasms (it's a trial drug since I'm taking part in an IC trial) and quit it after 2 weeks because it wasn't helping at all, infact it made it harder for me to void

I started treatment for IC in August. I did the DMSO irrigations which didn't help at all.
I am currently on:
Elmiron 100mg morning & night
Prelief-two with meals
Tagament 200mg twice a day-(I didn't notice anyone else taking this)
Urelle-one nightly-(This may be making me worse so I'm not sure if I well continue with it. Asprin makes me urethra really burn and I feel the same symtoms with this med at times. The meds notes say people with asprin allergies may have a problem with this.)
Atarax-(Just picking up today)
Pyridium-two nighty as needed. I stopped this in place of Urelle but may switch back.

Klaang, I see you are also taking Tagament. Have you noticed that since you have been on the meds for IC, that you tend to get Acid Reflux or heartburn more often? I have noticed this for myself. Are you taking the OTC Tagament?

Kim and all,
No I have not noticed that. I have a ultra delicate tummy anyway so I actually think it has helped with the tummy upset. I'm lactose intolerrant and get really painful tummy gas from a variety of vegies, beans, alcohol. Between that and having changed my diet on my own to loose 25 pounds since last March the IC diet doesn't seem like it should be that challenging yet the IC diet seems to exclude most everything! I'm not even sure how much most foods affect me. I know sodas, alcohol and onions and asprin are obvious ones for me, maybe tomato but I can only link the first four things four certain at this point.
I believe my physician said the Tagament (Cimetidene 200) helped to nutralize histamines which is believed to contibute to IC problems.
I feel like I am taking so many pills! I noticed that the Tagement also says not to take with other antacids. I'm taking it with the Prelief so I've been wondering about that. I don't want to burn a hole in my tummy and end up with another problem!
