Just wanted to share an experience from yesterday and today. I spoke with a lovely married couple who had developed IC simultaneously last Spring. Two people developing IC at the same time is VERY unusual. :hmm: They suspected either a food or chemical exposure. I have to agree. I think that there's a good chance that they have some well contamination from a new neighbor whose septic system feeds into the water table. Probably dumping chemicals or something. :toilet:
Well, in any case, this was so unusual that I e-mailed several docs and asked for their feedback. Specifically, I wanted to know if anyone had ever seen a case where two patients developed it simultaneously. They ALL responded back within 24 hours with the similar feedback (that this was QUITE unusual). One major researcher offered to work with the couple directly by phone to help solve the puzzle.
So... remember this! A good number of doctors and researchers have very big hearts! They are committed to the IC cause and do try to help. They are working passionately to help solve the puzzle of IC.. and in developing new therapies. But, to me, I'm just so very grateful that they are willing to help us as well! ;)
