Just a few questions :)

Ok so I got my official dx on Tuesday, after 2 years of my old doctor saying "maybe, just take in more fiber". So my question is to those of you who have IBS with Diarrhea...

1.) What kind of meds do you take?
2.) What kind of diet do you follow?
3.) Is it just me, or does steak tear you apart??

Ok my main concern is really one and two...three I have learned that I cannot eat it at all, along with a few other foods.

I am so frustrated with yet another illness, but it's not all that new, since I've been struggling with this for years now! Uck!

Hope this helps while you wait for news from your Dr. It can't hurt for sure, except the IC foods that may bother you. I may have to get back to this myself. Feel better.

For Me avoid fat, acid, corn....(basically all things feeding a young kid may mean BM on the way). basically too much ice cream, cheese, without a ballance of some fiber will be a problem. Lots of things on the IC diet would be on this diet. The big addition is fat...even foods with a small ammount if have too much of that food can hurt.

Basically I think for me it is my colitis and Pouch that cause the direrhia and the IBS constipation and gas....so hope that helps.

I had taken Levbid for IBS before I became pregnant over two years ago. Except for the occasional flare, I never resumed taking the medication. I have more diarrhea than constipation....I mean I may be constipated once or twice a year. I use the bathroom often.
Just like this morning I ate some cereal and ran off to use the potty. :rolleyes:
So it's different for everyone just like the symptoms for IC are.
I don't know why all our diseases we get have to be so complicated... :bonk:
........oh and the steak thing......well I am a chicken and seafood person so I rarely eat steak....

Thanks! :) My doctor was no help at all. His nurse called and said biopsies are normal, and then that was it. Soo...guess I have to figure this out on my own. Thanks for your help!
