Hi everyone! It has been months since I have been on here but there is good reason. I have felt GREAT! Better than I have since I was 15 years old! I just wanted to pass on my new coping strategy. I know it won't work for everyone and some of you have probably tried it but I wanted to share it anyway. I have been seeing a chiropractor who specializes in pain management, trigger point therapy and deep tissue work. He has a physical therapist on his staff as well. I have gone 3 days a week for 3 months with adjustments, muscle stim and physical therapy. I now am taking only 1 medication regularly (down from 13) and have been able to start exercising and have lost 16 pounds. If anyone wants specific info about this very specialized form of chiropractic feel free to pm me. They see me anytime of the day or night if I am flaring and really help me to work through the pain when I have it. It has been a miracle for me! :woohoo:

Thank you for sharing this, I'm so glad you've found something that helps! Is there any way we could tempt you to talk about your tip here? Is it something that can be done by yourself at home, or do you need to go to a Chiropractor to have it done? Just curious...

Blessings, Lori

I think Everyone diagnosed with I.C. should try physical therapy, BUT make sure you are seeing a therapist who has been trained in womens health issues, I CAN NOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH! All P.T.s are not created equal.

I have been going off and on for about six months and I have improved 95%.

Before I started P.T. I was like so many of you, feeling like I have to "go" about every twenty minutes and getting up several times every night. What a nightmare!

I am mostly having normal days again, I am drinking and eating anything I want again and I am very thrilled with my outcome.

I have cut back on exercising and am finding that the less I do the better I feel, so I have decided to give my pelvic floor muscles a rest for about 3 months then I will SLOWLY get back into my work outs.

I also feel better after beginning PT; but it's true, the ideal situation is to be referred to a physcial therapist who specializes in pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. Not all physical therapists know what to do with the pelvis, unfortunately.

I'm happy to hear people are finding relief from their symptoms here... that is just wonderful :)
