I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I totally understand the emotional part...I think I went for about two weeks where I didn't go a day without Crying. I know you hate having to put up with all this stuff, but remember you aren't along. Good luck with the job search.
Sending lots of hugs,
Holly

i'm very sorry you are flaring could it be a uti has set in with your mthly.
that is what happens to me and i feel for you that is very painful if please call your doctor and go ahead and get checked just in case it is a uti setting in so you can be treated if its not a uti he may at least go ahead and give you something for the pain.
sending you hugs and prayers

Hi, and so sorry you are having a bad flare up, I know the feeling of just wanting to curl and have a good cry, I know most of us have had days like that. Hopefully things will ease up for you, but like Cindy said in her post you may have a UTI. Lots of soft hugs and let us know how you are doing, Iris. :grouphug: :grouphug: :flower:

{{{Sandra**** Hope you feel better soon. I am a wreck when I go into a big flare. It really throws me for a loop, too.

Be good to yourself. :kissing:

BTW - Maybe you could drop by an urgent care or someplace like that to make sure the infection was cleared up? I was just thinking about the back pain you mentioned --- is that typical for you in a flare? I just know some people get that when they have a kidney infection....

you know i recently this past month stopped taking BC pills cuz i thought maybe it would help somewhat and this is the first time that im getting my period since.....maybe this cramping and back pain is due to my hormones being all out of wack?? any thoughts anyone>>>??

When I have my period I get really bad pain all in my lower back. It feels like someone is standing behind me sort of just punching me in my lower back for hours at a time - not fun. I've had the back pain since I started my period when I was 14. I take Anaprox for it now throughout my period and it works great. Your period could definitely be the culprit ... but like the others said, I'd want to rule out anything more serious before you just treat the pain ... Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Mel,
what is anaprox? is it over the counter?

Here is the definition I pulled from a Web site - Anaprox is short for Naproxen Sodium. It is my lifesaver. I see that it talks about Aleve below as the OTC -I can't take aleve, because, ironically, it makes my back smasm and generally makes me feel icky... :hmm: I think the perscription form must be pretty pricey - I have a $40 co-pay and this one always costs the full $40.

"Anaprox and Naprelan are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs used to relieve mild to moderate pain and menstrual cramps. They are also prescribed for relief of the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis (the most common form of arthritis), and for ankylosing spondylitis (spinal arthritis), tendinitis, bursitis, acute gout, and other conditions. Anaprox also may be prescribed for juvenile arthritis.

The over-the-counter form of naproxen sodium, Aleve, is used for temporary relief of minor aches and pains, and to reduce fever."

I think it would be a good idea to be checked to be sure you don't have an infection working. If you do, it will only get worse without attention.

Even if your doctor is out of town, you might call the office anyhow. There must be someone covering for him.

Sending healing thoughts,
Donna

I think that when you have IC and all the other strange symptoms and conditions we all seem to have, you can't help but be a worrier. Every new little pain I'm always like "what is that? I should go to the doctor." Then I go online and freak myself out by trying to do my own research on things! I agree with Donna, though, that it would still be a good idea to rule out anything else to make sure you're not treating pain that is trying to tell you that something is really wrong! I find that if I call my doctors office (even if he's not there) and say I have this pain and I think it might be this or this and I'd like to get it checked out a.s.a.p., they will usually make room for me.

Hugs, and I hope you are feeling better soon!
