What bladder med are you going on? There are many, many treatments for IC available. I'm sure many will share their experiences if you tell us which treatment you will be having.
Sending healing thoughts,

Hi, Dorir, welcome! You will find a wealth of information and support here on the boards and on ICN in general.
I agree with ICNDonna, there are so many different treatments for IC. Although it's normal to be scared when you first get the diagnosis, the vast majority of IC'ers find medicine that helps them to be comfortable most of the time, and can live happy, normal lives, with minimal symptoms.
The most important thing is not to give up, and to be patient when trying medicines. The frustrating part about this disease is that what helps one person, might not help another, and there's no way to know except by trying this and that.
The hardest part of the disease is actually prior to diagnosis - once you are diagnosed, you are that much closer to finding the treatment or medicine that makes you much more comfortable and has you feeling back to normal again!

Hi, Dorir, it sounds like they might be doing either DMSO or maybe heparin or maybe some combination of things. Many IC'ers have gotten some relief with these procedures, but usually it's not immediate, especially with DMSO. With DMSO you might not get better until you've finished all the treatments.
And, some patients don't find relief with DMSO at all, but it's worth a try because a good proportion of patients do get better from it.
It's one of those things - you gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find the prince...well, with IC you gotta try a lot of treatments sometimes before you find your miracle. So please hang in there and don't give up!
Blessings, Lori
