I haven't heard anyone talk about the raw food diet. That is a low protein vegan diet (although I will eat mild cheese occasionally). Raw carrots can be delicious when put through a food processor with a few tablespoons of olive oil. And salads. And tahini (raw sesame butter with raw honey or olive oil), sprouts. Other things. Sometimes, rarely, I eat fish but no meat. I've read articles saying Americans eat far too much protein anyway. I'm not a medical person and can only speak for myself. But I have noticed a difference in the IC. It doesn't mean I never have symptoms but I get more breathing room in between them. And I do my best to keep the processed sugar down. A lot of raw foodists eat fruit and for us with IC that is tricky and impossible for some people. However gradually I have been able to add a little non citris fruit like a nice ripe persimon. I have a raw food page on my health page if anyone is interested. Take what you want from it and leave the rest. http://homepage.mac.com/health.html IC is a tricky thing though and the latest I read was that IC patients have some irritating substance in the urine which hurts the bladder lining. So my hope is that some day the raw food diet and homeopathics (given by a licensed homeopathic practitioner), will cause some good remission time. My record so far is 3 days. Usually it is one day and I am thankful for every pain free, IC symptom moment.
