I'm 18 years old, never worked before cause of being sick, and unable to go work anywhere or do any college right now. But I would love if I could find something to do at home! Give me something productive to do, and also could really use the money to pay for medical things, clothes, food, etc. Plus could use the money to save up for college next year if I can go. I don't really have any talents where I could make anything, or do anything like that. I'm pretty good with computer, and am a discently fast typer. I don't know what options are out there, but I have had medical transcripting suggested to me, things online. If any one could give me any guidance of something I may be able to do, and somewhere I possibly could also look for ideas and things like that, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
~Rachel
p.s. Outside of being sick, and tired a lot, I am a pretty smart girl, got good grades in school, and could probably do a lot of different things within reasons that my body can handle!

there are jobs you can do @ home but its a good idea to check the back round of companys to make sure these places are good and its not good to send any of company money before you can work .

There are courses you can do on-line to receive a degree...my thought would be medical transcriptionist....you would drop off the documents at the doctors office and that would be the only time you had to leave home with this line of work.
The big thing with learning this field is diagnosis'....and as much as we've all been in the doctor's office you'd think it'd be a breeze... :)
I hope you figure something out....

I've heard that www.workingsolutions.com has computer jobs and customer service rep jobs that you can do from home. Their home page is for the companies, but if you click thru' the site, you'll find a page that describes the kind of work, the pay to expect, and an application. Must be OK, since Dr. Phil used it on his show for a woman who had to work from home.
Good Luck!

Please remember don't send any money to any company you will be working for them so they need to pay you you don't need to pay them a dime.
also always check with the b.b.b.
hope you find something soon
sending you hugs and prayers

You and I are so much alike! I dropped out of my freshmen year of college because I was too sick to go. I can't work, I can't go to school, I can barely leave the house, I'm smart and great with a keyboard. So I enrolled on online courses for medical transcription. Trust me, it is the best thing you can do! On good health days I study and take tests...it is great. Feel free to email me (jesser@nnex.net) for any help! (I'm 22)

Rachel,
It's good to know that there are other folks in the same boat as I am. I've only been diagnosed for a few months and I'm still getting used to all this stuff. I'm gonna have to drop out of college this semester (I'm 19 and a sophomore) and I have no clue what I'm gonna do. I'm sorry I couldn't offer any ideas but I hope it makes you feel better to know there are other folks like you. If you ever want or need to talk about anything, feel free to contact me.

Rachel and Jess:
I too am a lot like you guys! I had to drop out of school and then eventually quit my job and move home with my parents. I, unfortunately,am in too much debt so I can't take online courses. But, I would love to find some way to work from home. I haven't worked since June 2003 and I desperately need money. So if you guys hear or find anything and vice versa let me know!
