anyone taking Elavil and on HRT? have a ?

My Doc. put me on Elavil at 10 mg. A low dose. When I was doing some research on Elavil it read that it was very important to tell your Doc if you are on estrogen replacement before taking this med. Did not say why though. I know I told my Doc I am on HRT. I am 38 and had to have a total hysterectomy. Does anyone else take Elavil and on HRT? I am currently wearing the Claimara patch. If so are you having any problems? Thanks

I agree with Donna, check with your pharmacist or go to Dr. Koop.com and look up drug interactions there. I too have had a total hyster and am 32 I was on the Elavil but had to cease taking it because of the massive weight gain I experienced. Let me know if you find anything out, I'm curious. I was never told that so good thing I'm no longer on it, huh?
