my urologist (i hate him soooooooooo much) says i fall under the catergory of ic. but its weird because i have no pain in which most of you are describing. I have every other symptom though. I was reading an article in here about this child with ic and he says he didnt have pain either but he was diagnosed out there with ic. is anyone else an ic patient with no pain?

Yes, I have never had any pain with IC. I had major discomfort with flares --- it felt like a really bad UTI that would not go away. But I have never had pain like others describe. There are others here, too, who have not had pain.

If you have IC you are very fortunate to not have the pain portion. What treatments has your uro suggested so far?

Love your username, by the way. Sounds like how I felt when I first found these boards. My username is two letters b/c I was so mad when I came here that all I could do was punch in 2 letters. :lmao: It does get better - lots better. I promise.

I don't have a lot of the pain either. I do at times get cramps and pulling in the vaginal area but not as often as others on here. Luckily (knock on wood) I just have the burning and frequency

I have pain every now and then. When I do get pain though it goes full blast!!! However, there are days that I have no pain at all. I do pee a lot and have burning. I have never had a flare that has lasted longer than a day before. Don't get worried over not having pain. Remember everyone feels pain very differently. Chelsey

I had years of no pain before I ever had pain. It is not uncommon. I hope your treatment works for you and you never experience the pain of IC. :grouphug:

I thankfully dont have the pain most everyone on here has. I do occasionally have burning and urethral discomfort but those are my total symptoms of IC. I also on occasion have frequency which by some reports on this board isnt that bad either. When I have frequency in the worst of a flare it might be around 8 to 10 times a day rather than maybe 4 or 5 times a day. However, when I have burning and aching in my urethra it is very uncomfortable but it is something I have learned to live with and tolerate. I am thankful it has not incapacitated me like some on this board.

I did sometimes, but I was so used to it I could ignore it some of the time..now, I have no pain, hardly any pressure, and I get up once a night to pee.. :woohoo:

I didn't have pain for years but the pain hit me almost 2 years ago and has stayed.

hi..I had IC for a long time before I was formally diagnosed about 8 years. The pain started about 8 years ago. Luckily, I have found a lot of relief with oxycontin and an understanding uro given my past. My retention is acting up, but I would much rather have this than pain....
