:) I'm so excited. I spoke with our insurance company this afternoon and found out that I am approved to visit a Physical Therapist for diagnosis and treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and possible diagnosis and referral for Fibromyalgia treatment and evaluation. My first appointment is Monday, October 25th and the good news is I don't have to travel far to see her. She's located about 20 minutes from here. Traveling is not top on my list of abilities due to chronic pain and frequency so this should work perfectly for me. I hope this is what is causing my retention otherwise I'm looking at having urethral surgery to widen the opening of my urethra at the base of the bladder with a 2 day stay in the hospital and catheterization for 2 weeks so this is definately a less invasive approach to treatment. It's bad to have to hope to have one thing but it's good if it avoids having yet another surgery this year.

Keep me in your prayers and I'll post on Monday to let you know how therapy went and what it all consists of. She said my first visit would be a little over an hour, wow! Wish me luck!

good luck with the pt. i also started yesterday. my insurance co. thru the state of tx will also pay with this office that my uro found for me. my huby works, for the state, as an auditor. a $20 co-pay, which is better than $125 for one of the other pt's who doesn't take insurance. :yikes:

the pt put some tens (electro things) things on my back and tummy with wet heat pads.

i hope it helps with my pain, spasms, and retention.

luck....
luck.....

 Good luck Tracy, I sure hope this works for you becuase having surgery is no fun and then to have to have to stay in the hospital also yuck. Happy to hear that insurance is covering your therapy, they can be sticklers at time.

Hi Tracey, and good luck, I will be starting my PT in a couple of weeks, so will be interesting to see what happens and the experience of biofeedback as well. Good luck again, let us know how it all goes, hugs Iris. :hi: :grouphug: :flower:
