who gets urethral burning with their IC?
this is my most annoying symptom right now, and it's pretty constant even when i'm not in a 'flare'.

Oh yes. I am a male with IC and it sometimes feels like someone has vice-grip pliers in places that they shouldn't. My work is at a desk and on most days, I am like a jack-in-the-box anyway, but when this symptom is at its worst, I just have to work standing up. Hope "the burn" gets better.

Of all the symptoms I get, the burning is by far the worst! During a flare it's almost more than I can bear, (and I like to think I'm pretty tough!).

I do find that for me, the baking soda in water trick soothes the burn, but I can't use it too much or it causes constipation. Still, when I find myself weighing the options,..hmmmm, burning on one hand,... constipation on the other. I'll go for the constipation every time!!

Not so much burning for me as a sore and bruised feeling in that area. Very annoying and especially during that time of the month.

You might want to check your diet. Urethal burn is usually something ingested. Keep a diary of everything you put in your mouth to ry & track it down. Kathi :)

Pyridium, or Urised are the things that I am usually given for burning. They discolor you urine, (and undies if you dribble like me) Hope this helps! Hugs and best wishes to you all! Sheri :hi:

Sorry to hear that you are having that old burning sensation. The burning sensation is one of the worst feelings I think. For me, the helpful things are to watch the diet, take Uristat and sit on my ice bag.

Hope you find relief very soon!!!
