Good luck! I have been going for about three weeks now and I do notice a small difference with the frequency. I have an estim machine for home which I do daily and I also have a biofeedback machine. My PT is wonderful! Don't get discouraged if you have a flare up of pain at first. That is normal....things always get worse before they get better! It does take a lot of commitment but hopefully it will be worth it!
Keep us updated!

hi there gals, need some help here, I was diagnosed yesterday, with pelvic floor dysfunction, which has now joined my IC. I start therapy and biofeedback in two weeks. I am curious what is the physical therapy like? and any info about the biofeedback, I would like to know about. Did the physical therapy trigger a flare, or just the normal aches and pains of doing something different. I know last night I was really hurting, just from being poked and prodded, but glad that I finally know what else is going on beside my IC. Any info would be appreciated, thanks a bunch, Iris. :hmm: :help: :flower:

I went to physical therapy today and it went very well. I'm not excatley sure what I'll be doing but I'm excited. I go again tomorrow. The therapist was very nice. I really like her a lot. Chelsey
Hi Chelsey, let me know how the therapy goes, I know I am really interested in meeting my therapist in a couple of weeks, and how the therapy session goes, especially the biofeedback. I am really curious about the whole procedure and how my IC will be affected. Take care, keep me posted, Iris. :hi: :hmm: :flower:

I have had a very positive experience so far. I have to say that my IC and PFD did flare from my visits so far but I think that is to be expected. I have noticed a difference in my frequency so I guess that is a positive thing. My PT has internal massage, myofacial release, deep breathing techniques but I think the biggest help has been the Estim machine that I have been using at home on a daily basis. It seems to really make a difference. I now have a biofeedback machine that I will start using tomorrow! I know that it has made me feel "worse" but like my uro really believes that it will help me in the long run so I have been dealing with the additional pain.
Best of luck!
Jamie
Hi Jamie, thanks for letting me know about your physical therapy, I am expecting a flare up and pain, but if it is going to help in the long run, I am in a positive mode about the whole thing. I know when my urogynecologist examined me, she found several places where muscles were tight, so it is going to be an interesting experience for me, and the biofeedback part as well. Thanks for letting me know about your experience, I appreciate it very much, hugs Iris. :hi: :grouphug: :flower:

Hello Heather
I went to physical therapy yesterday. I didn't really do much. She rubed my muscles and stretched them. She also did a ultra sound type of thing. She then put these things on my lower stomach for 15 min. and a heating pad. My pt is really nice. I'll let everyone know how it goes when I really start doing work. Chelsey
Hi Chelsea, like the sound of heating pad, keep us posted as to how you are doing. I know I am anxious to start my therapy and biofeedback, want to know what it is all about, hugs Iris. :hi: :hmm: :flower:

It took a few weeks but I started to see the results really soon. Each time she did the massage, I could feel a lot less pain and pressure. I also had less frequency.
Hi, and thanks for letting me know that you are feeling a difference, hope it does the same for me, my appointment is November 11, so looking forward to seeing what happens after my visit with my Physical Therapist, Iris. :hi:
