I am trying to get motived to start exercising. I have the Leslie Sanson "Walk Away the Abs", and I also have some Denise Austin videos. The main area I need to work on is my stomach. I can't take my husband making this remark to me one more time "Are you pregnant?" First off, I don't think he understands how that hurts me, seeing how, I am NOT able to get pregnant. Second, I get tired of wearing loose fitting tops over my pants. I hate to wear tops tucked in because of my stomach. I know that because of the IC there may be some exercises out there that I should not do, because it would just make matters worse, so if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

On another note, I was just wondering if there were any Christians out there with IC? I am still trying to find someone with IC who lives near New Oxford, PA. I would like to find someone (ANYONE) who lives close by me, so that maybe we could use each other as "support". I know, this IC has been very hard on me. I found out back in May 2004 that I had it. And it has been very hard to cut out the caffeine and the foods that I should not consume. Plus, it doesn't help when you and your husband go grocery shopping and that everything your husband picked out and bought was EVERYTHING you should not be eating. HE THINKS THIS "IC" IS ALL IN MY HEAD ANYWAY. BUT THEN AGAIN, IT SEEMS "NO MATTER" WHAT MEDICAL PROBLEM I HAVE, HE THINKS IT'S ALL IN MY HEAD.

Thank You All,
chainsaw (Kim)

I hate to exercise but I joined Curves hoping that it wouldn't cause my IC to flare and I've done great. It's so easy and quick. You're in and out in 1/2 an hour and the time really moves along. there's an IC support group in Baltimore and I know we have some members from Pa.. It really helped me w2hen I was first diagnosed to share my feelings with others who could relate. Let me know if you need information. Sue

Hi Chainsaw, I have the walk away the pounds tapes from Leslie, very easy to do and non jarring for the ol' bladder! I have heard to stay away from things that work the abs because it can cause pain. I also use a yoga ball which is fun to do when I want a change in activity. But I dont do anything but tighten my ab muscles here n there anymore because I just don't want to cause myself any pain ;) Hope you are able to find an exercise that doesnt bother ya if so, let me know ;)

Hey kim, excerise is no fun I have to agree there and having the IC belly and feeling bloated really stinks. You should tell your hubby how it hurts when he makes a comment like that. Secondly, I was really struggling with my weight before I knew I had IC and I was tired of the diets. I looked into hypnosis and wha-la I have lost 50lbs. the best thing about it though is that hypnosis helps reduce my stress level as well. Good luck and maybe you can ask your hubby to go walking with you. Not only are you excerciseing but also spending time with hubby.
