The second week of March of this year, Grams had begun taking new supplements, which were given to her by Mark, the ups man who comes to her office. When the pain began to improve in two weeks, Grams knew something good was happening. Waited for three months before posting here of the results. Now, 8 months later, am still doing great. No more 5 day headaches, pelvic migraines, nerve pain, or that wicked, hot searing pain, Can also sit normally, (used to have to lean toward the right side while sitting,) exercise, ride a bike and do stairs with no pain. However, Grams was very interested in why such exceptional results from these particular supplements, as have taken many other supplements over the past 15 years with very little or no help. Several years ago, had a lady use a pH test strip on Grams saliva, and found it was about 5.5, which is extremely acidic. As Grams has worked in the water treatment industry for almost 20 years, she is very familiar with the problems caused by acid water conditions. (In the business, calcite corosex is used as a media to correct the acid problem found in many well waters).
The lady that tested Grams pH was marketing a coral calcium, which Grams invested in and used for months, with no results. However, it peaked Gram's appetite for more information on the human acid condition. Someone gave Grams a tape on acidosis, which was very informative, but didn't really provide any effective treatment. The alkaline diet, antacids, even taking Prelief, didn't provide any real, lasting help. So, why would these new supplements be affective? Grams was given some test strips by a young friend involved in holistic healing supplements, and found that her pH (testing saliva) is now 7.5. Remarkable! The new supplements are rich with calcium and magnesium, and apparently are processed differently than the others, as the results are the proof of the pudding. The combination, as well as the potency and processing of these minerals and antioxidants do the trick. Have talked with other icers and found some are unable to tolerate these particular supplements and others can. (Perhaps slowing weaning onto them would be worth trying.)
But, would be very interested to know how many icers have an acid condition. Grams is also very careful to say that she still has ic, with the frequency being the main problem. These supplements have not cured the disease, but have obviously raised the pH so that the damaged tissues are simply soaking in alkaline friendly fluids. Makes sense. Hope this helps. Love and prayerhugs, Grams

Hi Grams! I have been using the vitamins and chelated minerals you have suggested and I am able to tolerate them well. However, are you talking about a differenet supplement when you mention the calcium and magnesium? Is that a separate antioxidant? liz

I didn't know if I was able to mention the name of the vitamin, but it is an antioxidant vitamin/mineral combination made by USANA. Grams has been taking them for awhile and I tried them because the Vitamin C in the multivitamin is a buffered (not acidic) form. My bladder is tolerating this well, as regular vitamin C causes me many problems. It is the only multi vitamin I have found so far that has the buffered form. It also contains quercetin which is supposed to act as an antiinflammatory. liz
