I wasn't excatley sure where I should post this so I decided I'd post it here. Is anyone on Flomax? My uro put me on this about 2 weeks ago. However, I cannot tell if it's working or not. It' suppose to speed up your flow when you go to the bathroom. Has anyone else been able to tell a difference? Thanks Chelsey :toilet: :toilet: :toilet:

I tried it several years ago when they told me I had prostatitis. It did not help me at all.

I am on it. It helped for a while, and then recently I have been in a flare and have been back to retaining, occasionally so bad that I've needed to cath. It seems to be letting up now however, so we'll see.

I go on it periodically when I have either had a cysto/hydro or other times when I am pushing and not going alot. It effects my breathing so I can't be on it for more than a few days but it definitely helps. Your stream starts on its own instead of you working so hard at making yourself go.

I take Flomax daily to relax the sphincter muscles in the urethra, since that was an area that gave me pain. If my bladder is pretty full, I don't have to push at all. I think the pushing happens to me, if it isn't very full at all and that was causing pain.I believe it helps me considerably, however, I have learned not to drink so much liquid before bedtime, due to waking up a bit late and not quite making it to the bathroom. Didn't take more than a couple of those to sink into my head that I didn't want to push fluids right before bedtime. /blush

I do have a lot less urethral pain now and that's a plus!

My Doctor JUST put me on it on Monday...so I am new to it...so far who knows!! But he has seen a lot of his patients have success with it. I have a big frequency/urgency problem so he is hoping this will help!!! I will keep you posted!
