Itching?

Alright this is kind of a weird question but I wanted to ask anyways. Does anyone else have itching all the time in their private area? I seem to always have this everyday. It's really strage. I was diagnosed about a mo. ago with IC. I know it is not yeast infections. I believe that I've heard that others have itching, but I'm not sure if I'm correct. Thanks Chelsey

There was a time when I had a real problem with itching and irritation. I found some things that really helped me and the itching is pretty well gone now: I changed to plain white, unscented toilet tissue, wear only underpants with cotton crotches, take only showers for cleansing, use a very mild soap (I use Neutrogena), avoid using softener dryer sheets, use detergent (no soap!) for laundry. You might also try double rinsing your underpants to be sure there isn't any detergent residue. And if you have to wear panty hose, snip out the crotches.

I ALSO HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS. I THINK FOR ABOUT THE LAST FIVE YEARS OR SO I HAVE HAD THIS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY DR SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT IT & HE HAS RUN TEST BUT ALWAYS COME BACK NORMAL? HE THEN SENT ME TO A GYNO HERE IN MILDURA ( MY HOME TOWN) WHO ALSO JUST SAID OH SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THESE SORTS OF THINGS :confused: TO ME I THINK THAT IS JUST A CRAP ANSWER. I HAD NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE LIKE THAT BEFORE & UNLIKE SOME IC'ERS I'VE ONLY EVER HAD ABOUT 2 UTI'S. BUT I DO FIND ITICHING & IRRITATION WHICH MAKES IT STING SOMETIMES TO PEE. THIS MIGHT SOUND ABIT YUK BUT I ALSO FIND MYSELF WET & WITH A REALLY FOUL SMELL (SORRI) I FIND THAT I NOW HAVE TO ALWAYS WEAR A SANATRY PAD TO HELP ASORBE ANY MOISTURE & SOMETIMES I GET A REAL BLACKISH DISCHARGE TOO. I HAVE BEEN TOLD MY A NATROPATH THAT IT WOULD BE FROM IMFLAMATION ON THE INSIDES. NOT SURE :confused: SORRY IF THIS WAS TOO MUCH YUK INFO BUT I TOO WAS WANTING TO ASK OTHERS IF THEY SUFFERED SYMPTOMS LIKE THIS. HAVE YOU SPOKEN WITH YOUR DR ABOUT THIS YET?

Yea count me in that one too.. its a pain.... also wanted to add..... accourding to my gyn don't wear your panties to bed.. go comando.... your privates need to breath.. Once I started doing that and Donna's suggestions... the itching was gone.. If you don't have a yeast or bacterial vagionsis or any stds.. its IC.... (put that in so people know to be checked first ;) )

Itching is the lowest form of pain. It can come from ingesting a no no too. Just the pain isn't as bad, it comes as the "wicked itch"

I itched for years when I first got IC. It was referred bladder pain. When I voided, the itching stopped. I'd scratch while asleep until I bled. Not pretty.
