I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this?

One thing I have noticed repeatedly, if I am about to flare or flaring, my urine gets warm and then quite hot feeling. By that I mean it feels physically hot in temperature. I haven't taken the temperature of it. That is just how it feels. I have wondered if that were a byproduct of the inflammation. I have begun reaching for my ice bag thingie on the first sign of warm urine, in hopes of stopping it. Sometimes this does seem to work. Anyone else ever notice this?

I myself have not but I do notice that a lot of people have odd symptoms right before they flare. (which I guess would make it not very odd) It is almost like a warning. Be sure you don't have an infection.

Yes I get that feeling that pee feels like it is hot... Our bodies can sure do stange things!

I get the sensation that my pee is very hot too... I don't know what causes that, but it certainly is a bizarre feeling! You're not alone with it.

any new systoms needs to be reported to your doctor.

I also get this feeling its when i have a UTI or been on anti. for a long peroid of time.
some get this feeling from after sex, at the begining of a uti, yeast infection,
wareing tight pants like jeans.
I found that if i ware 100% cotten panties lose fitting cotten pants it helps some.
but please talk to your doctor about this to make sure there is an infection not setting up.

I don't really understand..

My urine only felt hot when I was either very dehydrated.. or if it was a cold day or I had swam in a swimming pool of cold water.. Otherwise my urine has always been warm.

You've just perfectly described what I call "urine burn"... which is a feeling that your urine is very hot. It really isn't... it's more that your tissues down there are very inflammed and most sensitive to the urine. This is very common in IC patients and I've had many an experience with it myself.

The BEST strategy for that is to use a perineal wash bottle either after you urinate or as you are urinating. Rinse yourself off with cold water.... and it relieves it very effectively. We sell the bottles in our shop.. they're like $2.99. Remember... NO chemicals... JUST WATER!!!! Room temp or cool!!!

My urine is checked monthly and I have never shown any sign of a UTI since I started having IC. For me, this happens every time I flare and has all along. (I am very lucky, UTI's are quite rare for me.) I kept thinking I was just imagining things. But I am sure glad to hear that other people also have this experience!

I keep telling myself that urination used to be routine and it didn't feel hot either. I didn't worry that the pain would start with every trip to the bathroom. I didn't wonder if I would wake up feeling ok. Honest! Really, I'm sure I didn't. :lmao:
