Do people actually work for ICN or is Jill the only one? :) Chelsey

I volenteer my time to try to help keep these boards a safe place where icer's can come and get support and advice caring and understanding without pro and cons.
I don't get paid money but the love and support and knowing i have helped one person is all the payment i need.

the reason i do it is because I love people! I want to give back to the ICN the same loveing support they gave me when i was new and scared. and they still give me.
the ICN is my second family and i love each and every person here.

I believe if Jill had to pay people to help then these boards wouldn't be free.
and many icers couldn't afford to pay a membership because of all there doctor and medicine bills.
So i'm very thankful these boards are free. and very happy to offer my time to help others.

This is my personal opioion.

I also volunteer my time to moderate boards... I find it is extremely rewarding and being able to help people makes them feel good AND makes me feel good.

I began volunteering at a darker time in my life. I was a research scientist, and I was having trouble with my boss/job. Among other abuses, he would tell me I was good for nothing and would never make anything of myself as a scientist even though it was all I'd ever dreamed about doing. No one had ever said anything like that to me before; in fact I'd won numerous awards for my previous research.

Because of this and other abuses at work, and because my IC pain was steadily worsening, my self esteem took a nosedive. I began volunteering as a moderator on these boards around that time, and it has been a great thing for me -- knowing that I have been able to help people has done them good, but it has also been just the thing for me and has done wonders to repair my damaged self confidence!

Since then I left that horrible boss and job, got some counseling, and have had the support of my husband, family, and everyone on the boards helping me get back to myself :)

Please don't be too hard on Donna & Jill -- they're busy ladies and I'm sure they'll get back to you shortly with a bunch of things you can do to help. :) I'm glad you want to join us!!
