I have read how it's good to stimulate the sacral nerve to help IC,
my ? is that I just had mine removed during my last surgery for endometriosis, could this be why my IC has been totally out of control since the last surgery, what exactly is the connection with the sacral nerve and IC
Thanks

I don't think I am very clear on this.. You had what removed during your last surgery? I am taking it as you had your sacral nerve removed... sorry I don't understand...

Yes, I believe he did remove the sacral nerve. He did a presacral neurectomy to try and help with my pelvic pain, was just curious if that could make bladder pain worse or not. Maybe it's a stretch, just was trying to put two and two together since all my bladder pain seemed to start after my surgery.

I am so sorry to hear about your new pain. I do not have an answer. I was hoping this thread might answer my question, did they inject something into the nerves to kill, or deaden them? I am having a spinal (hypogastric plexus) nerve block wed, hoping it helps. I have constant pain and it is getting worse no matter what i do or how much meds i take (nerontin is helping me sleep though) Please if you will share more info about what you had done, if you has nerves deadened and you still have pain, wow! I would like to know. I am unsure as what to expext, hoping for pain relief though

I'm not completly sure, but I think what my surgeon did was cut these out. Not very many surgeons can do the presacral neurectomy but I went to an endo specialist. He said it would help with my midline pelvic pain. It may be too early for me to tell if it has worked because the surgery was in July and my periods are still as bad as they were before, but now I have all this IC stuff to deal with and I don't know what's what any more. But from what I've heard it helps with pelvic pain in general so it's not limited to Endo. You can do a search for presacral neurectomy, just make sure you aren't reading the LUNA procedure because that is different, if I find a good website I'll post it.
HTH, let me know if you have other questions.

Here's some good info. Maybe I was wrong and it only helps menstrual pain, not sure, but you would think that if you guys are getting nerve blocks in the same area, then this procedure might help ICers as well

ok I am sssssoooooo confused. but thats really not hard to do this week...
I would check out the interstim sight,(www.intrstim.com) and consult your dr.
Interstim is not for pain... just urgencey and frequency....
I did have a spinal done for pain... didn't help...
