Anyone have a bladder biopsy??

Hello all, and Happy Halloween. I just found out yesterday that I am being scheduled for a bladder biopsy. I haven't been able to find a lot of info. on the internet and wondered if anyone has had this done and what I should expect. My uro gave me the "doctor speech", but I was kind of hoping to hear some info on someone who has had it done, what to expect, etc. Curious, Trinity.

Most of us who have had hydrodistentions to diagnose our IC also had biopsies taken at the same time. You can expect a little discomfort, but not bad. I'm assuming you will have this done with anesthesia in a hospital setting.

Donna - thanks for the info. It is scheduled for November 13th and it will be done at a hospital (like you mentioned). When I had my hydro, the biopsy wasn't done. It makes me wonder why not - but I guess that is a question I can ask my new uro. Thanks - Trinity

I have also had a bladder biopsy done during my hydrodistentions. There is some discomfort, but overall, it is not bad in the scheme of our every day lives. I've had the biopsy done more than once, as they found and had to remove polyps (spelling?)from my bladder....but, all was okay.

I'll be praying for you as Nov. 13th is approaching. Hang in there, you'll be fine, I just KNOW IT!
