I have to go in Wed. for Urodynamics testing. I have never done it before and would like to know what to expect from it. Can anyone tell me what happens? Details are welcomed. I have a brand new bladder and am wondering why this testing is needed. He wants to see how the new bladder is functioning. Then on Friday I go in for a urethral dilitation, scar tissue removal in the urethra, and a cut will be made to open up my bladder neck as it has closed too tightly. I will be put to sleep on Friday and sent home with a catheter for a week. He said it will be painful!!!!!!! GGGGGRRRR!!!! I still have to have the urodynamics done tomorrow though.

Thank You,

I had it done. They put you 2 catheters, one in the bladder and one in the rectum. It is to measure your bladder capacity and contractions. It is a little bit unconfortable because you have to pee when they are taking x rays of your bladder. Try to relax, it takes more or less 25 minutes... GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY!!!

Mine wasn't bad at all. My uro at the time had a female nurse and she would leave the room and come back in when I was ready for her. They were even playing very soft music in the room and that helped a lot.

sending prayers that you will have a smooth time of it too;)

Thank You Ladies! blink

It went well. They were only testing my bladder capacity. I can hold 500cc's now. Much different than before at 30cc's. The test was about 35 minutes long. They played soft music and it was a female nurse. The catheters were the size of a toothpick.
