Hello All:

I've seen a few posts regarding itching ... but haven't seen an answer to this question: Do any of you get a rash (and/or itching) caused by so much urine coming in contact with your skin? I often get a rash similar to diaper rash on my inner thighs and have used diaper rash ointment (Blamex)... which seems to help. And, though I wipe throughly after each trip to the bathroom, I always seem to have this rash/itching in my outer vaginal area as well. Can anyone recomment a lotion/ointment or other comments regarding this?

Thanks!

Pumpkin

I have that right now too. I thought it was like a diaper rash type too, so I used the same type of thing and it did not work. I am thinking now that it is a yeast infection of some sort. I am going to the drug store and get some of that over the counter stuff you use for yeast infections and I will tell you how it works. It is not fun! I have an appt. with the uro.(my first one) and I don't want to have this damn infection when I go. It is driving me nuts!! :yikes:

Well my recommendations are to wash instead of wipe...I keep wet hand wipes ....but baby wipes or any wet wipes should work....treating it I think diaper rash ointments and petroleum jelly should work....the trick is to put in on after each time you go....I know no fun. I hope that you feel better soon.

Another hint: Don't wipe --- instead blot the moisture. And be sure you are using plain white, unscented toilet tissue. Using a spray bottle of water to rinse off after urinating can help too.

I might see my doc if I had that, cuz it might be a yeast infection on the skin. I have had that, just the way you describe it...they took a swab of the rashy area, did some test, and POOF..congratulations, you have a yeast infection. Seriously tho, I do hope it is feeling better, there is not much worse that that awful itching, and for me, it really is at peak itch when I am somewhere like a crouded supermarket, and I certainly cant walk around itching that area!!! Wishing you all the best!

I have gotten a rash before. I haven't gotten them lately. I have had them before and it's so painful. It can be extremely hard to walk. Chelsey
