Personally, I don't have a hard time with immodium. I'm not sure if others have reported it causing flares. I have ibs-d as my "normal" type and frequently have had to use immodium. Good luck

I use Imodium almost daily. Luckily I have no negative side effects. :)

I have taking it a few times, and had no problem with it, but I must say it helped pretty fast for me. I hope it does the same for you

I've never had any problem taking Immodium.... I have diarrhea predominant IBS. Or at least I did until I started taking MS-Contin 3 times a day to control my IC pain. Now, I've done the opposite from you... I've gone towards the the IBS-constipation side now!!!! So, I've been taking more Colace (stool softener laxative) than Immodium these days..... *sigh*

All I can say is, both types suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found at the beginning of a flare, to take one of these tablets....what a difference! Often, one of these pills ends the flare-up within an hour.

I thought I was the only person to take these meds with IC flare ups until I just read the posts here. I'm so relieved to see others take these pills and am wondering why my doctor didn't recommend these medications in fighting off irritable bowel syndrome associated with IC.....ragsi

The IC specialist I've seen does not recommend pain pills. He said they make the condition worse. He's prescribed for me Elmiron and an antihistime. The pain is terrible. What is it one says to receive pain pills?
