Back in 1999 when i was working i started in Aug. of 99 having a pain just under my left rib. It was dulll pain but intensified at work as i was moving and working. It was a weird pain that was kinda spasmatic. It was like a pulse. It would hurt, go away, hurt, go away. Somedays was worse than others, and at times had me buckled over my work station it was so bad.
I got into my Dr's in Sept.99 and he had many tests run. Upper and lower GI,ultrasound, bloodwork, and a couple others. They couldn't find anything so he diagnosed me as having IBS. I had bouts of diareaha and constipation and gas and bloating off an on for many years so he figured thats what it was.He put me on some pills that are for stomach and intestinal spasms. can't remember the name. They didn't help at all, so after 2 months of taking them i stopped taking them and quit working. i just couldn't work in pain anymore.

The pain went away shortly after i quit working, and now 5 years later it has returned. Somedays it doesn't bother me and some it's just a dull pain that isn't enough to take a tylenol for ,but its just annoying cause i know its there. Now today i have a warm burning feeling under my left rib, no pain. almost like a warm water bottle is under my skin just below my rib.

Has anyone ever had this with there IBS?
I have been having problems with UTI symptoms and am seeing a urologist to see whats going on. Could this pain and warmness under my rib be from IC, if thats what i have?
I will address this with my uro. on Tues b4 i have my cysto done. But was just curious if any1 else had this pain under there rib.

Yes!!!!! You are describing my IBS well! I have come to understand it at pain from gas and spasms....I take an anti spasmodic med that helps and never eat without a Beano before eating. I take other meds for gas too. My antispasmodic med is hyoscyamine which I really like since it helps spasms of the gi and of the bladder. There have been a few times that my Pancreas seems to be part of the cause....but it has never gotten as severe enough to be a problem. I hate this pain.

Good luck on figuring things out for you. Let me know if I can help you anymore.
