My eldest son, Edward (age 20) just went back to Iraq. He was here for 2 weeks, seems like it was shorter than that. The first night he was home, I think I followed him all over the house, even peeped in on him while he was asleep to make sure he was real. He really looks good, gained a few pounds, even.
While he was here, we went to Houston to visit family and of course, he had to visit his friends here.
He will be in Iraq for 6 more months, and after that, hopefully he will be home, of course theres the possiblity that he will be extended a few months (and I really don't want to think about that). Will be so glad when he comes home!

Prayers to your son and family. My hubby is leaving in Nov. for Iraq so I can empathize with alot of your feelings. Please let me know if you need shoulder to cry on. My husband has been in 12 years and it never gets any easier.

Hugs,

Sending hugs and peayers to you and Babs! Althoug my hubby and I have been out of the service for 7 years, we still have a few friends in the AF. My best friend's hubby is EOD and is waiting to get called up to Iraq. EOD is crazy, though. They just can't wait to blow stuff up! :yikes:
Take care!
